In a meeting with DualShockers at Gamescom 2018, Motohiro Okubo, the software creator of Soulcalibur VI, revealed some potentially worrying news about the Soulcalibur franchise in general.
Okubo could not mince words when asked if Soulcalibur VI would be the last game within the series whether it doesn’t excel. He simply replied, “yeah, that’s right.”
It appears that the overall game could possibly have initially had trouble choice the land. Based on Okubo, “the initial thing is that the IP itself of the SoulCalibur franchise had low expectations within the company. It was actually facing a crisis of maybe disappearing. It invested some time should convince the provider.”
Later inside the interview, when inquired on the most recent entry retaining the quality of fan service welcomed in past entries, Okubo goes on to explain, “because Soulcalibur brand is facing an emergency, we’ve you win, therefore we just made a decision to do might know about might like to do.”
Okubo also explains that they’re not going out of their strategy to make characters look sexy on the subject of character design. When deciding a character’s costume, their focus is on how best they could represent the smoothness. For quite a few characters, they’ll use less fabric, driving them to sexier consequently.
