Bandai Namco stirred controversy during Gamescom 2018 if this announced that Soulcalibur series mainstay Tira could be locked behind a DLC paywall. This angered gamers for a lot of reasons, through the confusing announcement she is a season pass pre-order bonus that the the game’s full roster has not announced. Apparently, the software creator of Soulcalibur VI understands fan’s concerns and believes Tira’s reveal should’ve been handled more carefully.
“Opinions do differ wildly about these announcements,” said producer Motohiro Okubo throughout an interview with professional Soulcalibur player Kayane. “I personally think we should’ve been more careful in regards to the approach we take to have announced all this.”
According to Okubo, the c’s opted to show Tira at Gamescom 2018 to coincide together with the addition of the pre-order for the season pass. “As to your timing from the reveal, the preorders for that Season Pass started yesterday and also since she’s a Season Pass bonus, we were treated to to produce both announcements as well.”
It’s worth noting that Tira will be given to season pass owners even if they pre-order the summer season pass or purchase it after launch. Originally, Bandai Namco announced three fighters to your season pass. Using the inclusion of Talim, we’ve uniformly four fighters.
Okubo adds that your team only chosen to include Tira amongst gamers due to fan demand. “About Tira, having her in Soulcalibur VI needed some pretty complicated adjustments, so much in fact which she nearly didn’t have the cut. If we had announced Soul Calibur VI, loads of fans required Tira, therefore i left for view the development team and asked these to put her amongst people, so that’s why she isn’t mainly roster and it is DLC.”
Soulcalibur VI is scheduled to file for on Oct. 19, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
