Biomutant, the upcoming “kung-fu RPG” by THQ Nordic, incorporates a new trailer that specializes in the game’s varied environments and cutesy characters.
Channelling the aesthetic of titles including Enslaved: Odyssey towards West, Biomutant’s world looks to contrast steampunk technology with classical fantasy tropes. A highlight within the trailer was the incorporation of vehicles, with a patchwork hot air balloon and also a colorful mech.
Traversal within Biomutant’s overworld hasn’t been discussed previously, but developer Experiment 101 took the chance to explain the game’s travel options in-depth. Players can choose from a variety of options, including area-specific mounts, mechs, and even jet-skis.
While the project is a part of the RPG genre, this new trailer is further proof of the game’s action credentials. Gameplay looks fluid and weighty, featuring a fighting methods inspired combat looking better and better in time. Shooting belongs to the combat, too, using the title featuring a wide range of weapons and modifications.
In terms of RPG systems, Biomutant expands on its mutation theme by incorporting it into its upgrade paths. The upgrades, generally known as Wushu forms, allow players to improve fighting methods on-the-fly. The protagonist may also change his genetic code by exposing himself to radiation in view world, opening branching paths of customisation through attributes.
Story-wise, Biomutant tasks players with bringing an end to your plague that threatens Rainforest, the game’s post-apocalyptic setting. The world’s fate has increased rising, with player choice using a major have an effect on the story’s ending.
Biomutant is due sometime soon for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
